Hi
Can anyone recommend a REPUTABLE pet cremation service within say 30 miles of Rugby please?

I have a dog that has today sadly passed over to rainbow bridge LONG before his time; he doesn't belong to me, although he has lived with me for the last four years and therefore is part of the family. The 'deal' with his owner was that when he died he should be cremated and returned to them. As I didn't expect this to be for some time yet as he is only six I have been caught on the left foot as this is not what normally happens to my own guys when they pass on.

Anyone any suggestions please? I have googled and come up with a few suggestions but would prefer personal recommendation. I have NO idea what size casket a 35kg dog should fill when cremated and don't want to cause the owners any distress by getting it wrong.....I have heard some horror stories. HELP.

Sorry to hear your dog had passed away :(

No idea where Rugby is, but I work in a vets and we use PCS (pet cremation services). Good to deal with and very helpful. Can you contact your vet? They may have some recommendations or you can get it done through them if it's easier? Xxx

Their head office is c10 miles down the road.....am awaiting call back from vet but they will be closing about now so not sure if I will hear back tonight. Normally not a problem, but want to have everything in place before informing owner.

Thanks for your suggestion.

your vet will be able to sort this for you tomorrow, they take the body, which is then collected by the Crem service. 2 weeks later I received my dog back in a beautiful wooden casket, inside a cardboard box, and a card and certificate.

Thanks for your input but this is not what the owners require. I need to deliver the dog, tonight or tomorrow....they specifically do not want 'refrigeration' and they expect me to wait for an individual cremation and to return the ashes later that day....which is what I agreed to and is fine by me.

Thank you anyway

If you are close to a PCS, I would call them first thing in the morning and take the body over yourself. They were very helpful and accommodating for me, when I had my girl put down a few months ago. I got her ashes back the next day.

Sorry for your loss.
