Hi

i'm posting this in NL too. apologies if it's garbled, my hands are shaking. and tears are dripping off my chin.

i have just checked an old email address that i never check... and found an email from a week ago saying a dog of mine (that was stolen about 3 yrs ago from me) has been found as a stray, and that my contact details were on his microchip.

i tried ringing them, but the office is shut. i tried the out of hours number, but it was for household repair emergencies only.

i am PETRIFIED that he'll be sold on, and i desperately want to go and get him. will he have been sent to an RSPCA centre? cos they must have had him for at least a week as email is a week old.

i'm heartbroken. they describe him as a 'stray'. the poor poor thing.

does anyone know what kennel he would have gone to? so i can ring and check he's ok, and stil there?

help, please. my heart is aching with worry.

I would try Dogs Trust in Norfolk and the RSPCA both have rehoming centres if you google. Also the people from Doglost have good contacts with the local dog wardens they might be able to help. I hope it works out OK for you , I feel so sorry for what you must be feeling. Please let us know how you get on.

You will not get through tonight, try 9am, they have to hold onto a dog for 7 days legally, and u should have been contacted, unless the people who stole him, changed his chip details

Phone
All the stray kennels in your area
Any charity based kennels, as suggested the NCDL)(dogs trust)
All local vets, if u don't get joy from the above, to ask if it was handed via a vets first.

Phone chip company, they could poss still be open, ask if they have been contacted re the dog, and ask if your details are still on chip.

Good Luck, have Pm'ed a little extra advice

I do hope you are reunited with your dog soon.

I trust you reported the theft to the Police at the time, so please remember to inform them the dog has now been found, so they can update their records.
