Urgently need farrier in Hampshire

Evening everyone, I desparately need a fabulous farrier in Hampshire (near Alton) had to change my farrier 6 months ago as really couldn't afford £120.00 a set (have 3 horses) anyway farrier I am using at the moment is a lovely chap, but he can't keep shoes on my warmblood, have now got a masive problem as once again his shoe is off (only been on a week) and his feet have had so many nail holes in them they are now breaking of in chunks. Have never had any problems with his feet before and I am really getting p***ed off with the situation. If anyone can recommend someone spectacular, there will be a very LARGE chocolate cake in it for them
Oh they need to be extremely patient with my youngster as well she has had a pretty brutal life before I got her and everything needs to be done very very slowly otherwise she puts her stressy hat on.
Another thing hot shoe farriers only please.

You haven't had a response to this yet - so even though he is a way out of your area have you tried Dave Howell? I can PM you his number if you want it.

He is based in mid surrey, but does travel. He's very highly qualified, has a team of other qualified farriers and apprentices - although they won't work on your horse without permisison. He does excellent remedial work, and is good with the horses. Don't take my word for it - Google him and pick up some references from the stables etc he works with.

But expect to pay about £60 for a basic set - possibly more because of the travel. Certainly more if you need glue on shoes for your warmblood - which it looks like you might!

Try Mark Barton. He is very good and came vet reccomened out to me. Good luck finding someone i know how frustrating it can be

When I used to live near Reading we used Nigel Fennell...amazing farrier, very highly recommended. My current farrier (who is also fantastic but doesn't go as far as Alton) sings Nigels praises also. He has a website http://www.nigelfennell.co.uk/
