Hi,
I am looking for someone responsible to help my mum look after our horses in the Lincolnshire/Leicestershire area while I am at University. Help is especially needed right now as my mum has broken her ankle. I am looking for help with feeding, watering, checking the horses are ok and occasionally poo-picking (so nothing too strenuous). There are 8 horses (including one stallion) but all are living out so there won’t be any mucking out! The horses range in breed, age and experience so there is the opportunity for some fun for the right person. I am looking for someone who is at least 16years of age and has previous horse experience due to the fact there is a stallion on the premises. Unfortunately, being a student I cannot afford to pay anyone, so I am looking for someone who is happy to help in exchange for spending as much time as you like with the horses and maybe some riding to the right person.
I look forward to hearing from you
Many thanks

Are there any equine college's near you, maybe you can put an advert up there, or at all your pet and equine shops?

Tried Gumtree and Preloved also, might work?

Good luck.

When I moved to a new area (200 miles from old home) as I took one horse off the ramp I got clipped by her excited hoof! There I was stood on one leg holding two horses, blind as my glasses were under the horses feet...the shock of being responsible for two horses on a private yard and not knowing anyone was worse than the broken ankle! So I feel your pain!

My mum spent the next day driving me around local shops, yards etc to put up adverts and ask around. Thankfully I found a total saint who rescued me, she came to do my horses before her own grooming job started at 7am and then did them again on her way home! Everyone was SO kind, even the local stud (a big eventing name) came over to help turn my horses out in the daylight, as they were too rattled by all the goings on.

So chin up I'm sure someone will come to the rescue. I should add that i've gone an broken my ankle again! So all plastered up, if you get your mum just one thing get a limbo cast protector for the shower.

They are AMAZING, and will give her back some freedom to at least have a shower or bath in peace.

Sending healing vibes to your mum and good luck for finding someone.
