Been showing the wee many a fair bit, won our classes at BUBA and LKA so all was well....til about a week after ...

heard reports of kennel cough going round the benches so decided to stay home instead of going to an open show as if one of mine is brewing wouldn't like to bring it to others.

Felt a bit smug as nearly a week on no sign of a cough. But the wee one had a bit of a squittery bottom, then another one, then all three with V&D for days on end. Wee one ended up in out of hours vet screaming in pain he had such bad stomach cramps. Round the clock administering of electrolytes by oral syringe and hand feeding got him right, then the other two with similar though not as dramatic symptoms.

Just as the wee one was coming out of his horrible gastroenteritis, the coughing started.

So, three poorly dogs, my back is spasming from being on hands and knees nursing them, house decorating going on around us to boot - my busiest week of the year grooming is now in full swing....anyone wanna trade places and be me for a day?

Oh dear PNP, so sorry. Just sending a hug and hope you get through all this and you all get back to full fitness. I didn’t realise so many bugs flitted about at dog shows.

Oh no, poor pooches and poor you, I hope they are soon fully recovered.

LKA always used to be a bad show for infection back in they days when I was breed showing, not sure if its because its winter or what but seemed to be far more reports of KC etc after it than the other indoor shows.
I was quite surprised a couple of weeks ago to see someone inviting all their friends back after an open show to see and "cuddle" their litter of pups who were around 5 weeks old. Crazy in my view and I did try and tactfully say I thought it was a little risky. In fairness I think they did say they would think about whether or not to go ahead with the visits, I'm not sure what the outcome was.

Oh dear, what a shame for dogs and you! Stanley went down with KC a few weeks ago, I'd not come across it before so when he started honking I thought he'd got something stuck in his throat so rushed him to the out of hours vet. She said there was a lot of it about this year and as he was quite little she put him on antibiotics just in case. Stan made a very quick recovery, I hope yours do too.

Thanks for the get well wishes, think it's helped. Everyone clear of the vomit and diarrhoea it seems, and wee fella cough has become an occasional "uff" when he clears his throat. So all looks good again. And yay, that's me officially starting my holidays....apart from bathing my own three ;)
