Urine sample

I need to get a urine sample from my old boy. He lives out but I do have a stable that I can use if needed.

Any useful tips or tricks on obtaining it other than waiting patiently for a number of hours with a bucket and pounce at the right moment

Mine often wants to pee after being tacked up - he likes to go as I take him out of the field. Any chance yours is the same??? If not, good luck and hope you have a decent book!

Bring him on to a fresh bed. They usually pee immediately if it's fresh.

He has been retired for 6 years, think the sight of a saddle would make him himself .
Bringing him into a fresh bed is worth a try
