Quick silly question...... I have to take Malic to the vets tomorrow for urine test but havent got a container to get a sample in. I know if i wait till we get to the vets he wont pee so was wondering whether an unused tablet bottle would be ok? ( this is where the OH comes in handy! ) . The only test is to see if he has blood in his urine nothing else. He is not having it sent for annalysis or anything.

Sorry for stupid question!

It should be ok providing you wash it out thoroughly, I usually wash them in soapy water then drop them into a pan of boiling water just for a minute or two. Hope the urine test comes out ok. Dogs can definately be a worry sometimes can't they?

Yes i washed it and then poured boiling water in it a few times. Yes they can be a worry especially when they have a dodgy ticker and a brain tumour

Do you catch it on an old clean plate? I find it to be the easiest way, works for dogs and bitches. Some dogs seem to know that you want a drop of pee and refuse to co-operate though. My late Vizsla bitch was great, she had that many visits to the vets for one thing or another that she would automatically pee on the plate when I put it on the floor!

LOL............I always use a dog bowl.........and keep them on the lead for the first pish of the day, and casualy bend down slowly to collect the flow

..........cos its sods law that you will end up running all over the garden after them

...........or the pee running all over your hands!

Dog bowl is a good idea for a male dog, I find a plate slips under a bitch just a bit easier!!
