I'm at my wits end and hopefully one of you guys can help me!

My boy suffers from the odd outbreak of Urticaria, it usually goes away after the vet has given him a couple of cortizone injections, this time however the lumps keep coming back!

We can't find out the exact cause of the allergy, but have managed to narrow it down to something he is eating in a particular field (he will not be turned out there again).

Can any of you recommend anything else I can/should do.
I'm open to any suggestions at this stage!

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me, it will all be very much appreciated...i'm now off to meet the vet, yet again....

My vet sent me into the health food shop to buy a homeopathic treatment for Urticaria when my horse came up in a nettle rash type rash. I think it was called something like Urticaria and was in a small bottle. I had to dilute it with water and spray on the horse. It was probably meant for humans but seemed to help my horse.

Mine has had a recent attack and I was prescribed bute by my vet? May be a milder version than what your horse has had but it worked.

Speak to someone whose into Homoeopathy as my girl suffered a really horrible looking case of Urticaria several years back. She looked like her skin had turned to bubblewrap and she ended up with huge fluid-filled lumps hanging between her front legs. Yuk!

Vet said I'd have to move her to another field for a couple of weeks (as she might have been allergic to the trees I had in mine) Twas awkward as it was in the middle of a harsh winter and she was fully clipped and thin.

6 weeks of steroid injections and tablets, and reducing the dose, the urticaria just came back.

Then the woman whose field I was using suggested 2 Homoeopathic remedies (I'm afraid I can't remember what). Vet agreed that I continue to reduce the steroids and feed the Homeo remedies. Wow! They were brill. Was able to wean her off the drugs at last, and continued with the Homeo things for another week, and her skin at last settled down.
