Could someone please help me match US dressage levels with UK's ones?
I gather the US has 5 levels? Does Level 1 equal Prelim, 2=Novice etc?
Thank you

The US has the following levels of dressage:-

Intro = Walk and Trot
Training = Prelim
1st = Novice
2nd = Elementary
3rd = Advanced Medium
4th = Advanced
Then they have the FEI levels like everyone else ie PSG, Inter 1 and 2, GP and GPS

The levels don't correspond exactly as they have leg yeild and compulsory sitting trot at 1st and have no equivalent to our Medium. Their 3rd level although being close to our Advanced Medium is not as difficult (ie only 1 flying change each way, no entry in canter, no 8m circles etc) and their 4th level tests are on the whole easier than our Advanced (except our A100) as they don't have the same movements as the PSG which most of ours do.
