US Olympic equestrian critically injured

Springville Olympic medalist Darren Chiacchia was critically injured Saturday when the horse he was riding at a Florida horse show landed on top of him.

Sadly 2 horses (not Darrren's) also died the same day. One from possible heart attack and for the other horse news reports say it hits it's head on a fence and died. But people fence side said the horse was in difficulty before the fence and seemed to convulse before hitting it's head. Both will probably have an autopsy at the Uni of Fla vet hospital.

Given the temp was hovering around 26C / 78F with 90% humidty at midday it was not ideal eventing temps (think forward to Hong Kong!).

Prayers to Darren and his family. He is a hugely respected and well liked rider.
