Hi all, am just after people's recommendations as to whether they've used the equiami aside to lunge in.

My paddocks are too muddy and wet to lunge in however I have access to a field opposite with a track round the outside that i thought I could maybe walk round with my horse inhand wearing the equi.

Is it as beneficial as using the aid to lunge them in as walking them in hand?

If I was you I would long rein her round the field instead. I haven't long reined in the equi ami but I have heard of people doing it with the same outcome as lunging them.

I wouldn't lead personally, but that's only because my horse is lazy when I lead and I'd rather be driving him forwards from behind.

Thanks CG, all my exercising during the week is done in the dark at the mo so feel a little uncomfortable long reining round the field in the dark (just feel a bit more in control if maybe its in hand) but it's definitely something I can do at the weekend when i have more light.

If your horse is forward going when led in hand and you can really get him/her marching along then I don't see why you couldn't lead.... I'd be dragging my horse round the field if I led him in his Equiami, bloomin' cobs :p

Ex race horse - so very forward going in everything she does! Great I'll give it a go in hand, just didnt want to waste my time traisping round the dark and wet leading her round in it if it didnt really do much good as lunging in the equi.
