A driving horse. Would it work? The bum strap is like the breeching so will it think it needs to slow down with the pressure. When they drive if they stop/slow down the breeching tightens round their back end and they sit back to stop the carriage. Would they think they need to do this with the pessoa on?
I don't want to confuse him.

I personally would do it, not for the fact that he might misunderstand the pessoa but he might forget about your breeching when it is quite crucial.
Having said that,my Dad used to shout at us for cantering his driving ponies, but I dont remember them cantering when being driven!
