I have a new mare and she is turning out to be quite nervous and twitchy when handling her.She has only just been backed and I am not going to school her or back her until she puts some weight on.She is on grass livery although I will have a stable for her tomorrow.I wanted to give her the supplement "placid" that is herbs suitable for calming nervous horses. My problem is that she is in a field where we have to pass through two other fields of horses to get to the stable area where I could feed her some hard feed with the supplement mixed in.This is fine if I have someone with me but most days I cannot get her in.Has anyone got any ideas how I could maybe mix the herbs with something to make pellets that I could feed her in the field?
Phew sorry that was so long winded!!

I know that this isn't what you want to hear but I've been in a similar ish situation with a difficult mare who had to come through two other fields and I don't think that the placid supplement will make enough of a difference. It made no difference to my mare, nor did several other brands, what cracked it was lots and lots of groundwork
