using Deep Heat on horses?

sorry for the odd question, but:
does anyone use Deep Heat rub on their horses? smb told me it's good for stiff muscles but I'm not sure :)
 
I don't think it would be harmful, but probably an expensive thing to use! Bottles of liniment would be much cheaper - Vetlin or Radiol muscle embrocation would do the job.

I wouldn't, it's not made for horses, and they have bizarrely sensitive skin. Why not just use Radiol or one of the herbal linaments which are made for the job?
 
PLEASE DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!

I used deep heat on a TB's back (under a rug) and after a few days all the skin peeled off and he was left very sore indeed!

I also tried Ibuprofen gel on another horses arthritic pasterns and the skin also peeled off.
So please don't even try. I didn't consider either of these horses as having sensitive skin either.
