using rope Screw-in Ring Insulators for tape

We are moving yards and the new field is 1.5 acres and has electric rope in places - it needs replacing and I would prefer tape but was wondering if I could run the tape through the existing (screwed in) tape insulators? It seems a waste to take it all down....

I’ve done this in the past as I was using wooden tree stakes for semi permanent fencing. If your tape is inclined to pop off in the wind, use a cable tie to keep in it the isolator slot.
