I'm in need of some tips please 
My private yard (just me) has only around 1acre of land.. therefore we don't have winter turnout
and i'm dreading it this year, with a new horse, i really want it to be as stress free as possible 
Anyway, when it gets so that the weathers sooo bad i.e-snow, torrential rain hector wont be able to go out in the field.
Therefore i am preparing.. so what i was thinking of doing was...

Right also.. atm hector is not wearing any rugs (hes not clipped YET !) but as soon as he is he will be wearing a little thin flecce sheet. Then... he will wear a middle/heavyweight which u can add a hood too when it is F R E E Z I N G !!
Turnout rugs --- just a lightweight sheet which he is wearing atm, then once again when it is really cold, he will wear his mediam weight with a detachable hood
