She wears a fly mask all day normally but I haven't been using it lately and she has been a nightmare so think she is feeling
more pain without it . Have seen the guardian mask online (if that
is the one you ment ApacheWarlord). Luckily she doesnt mind wearing masks I also ride her in it

One horse that was on D-tox was totally blind with Uveitis and after a couple of months the owners thought she had some sight back, after 6 months vets thought she had regained 70% of her vision.
Others have shown significant improvement.

I am a person with uveitis...do you have a specialist eye consultant for your horse? I would advise getting one...if she is suffering from an attack it would be extremely painful and maybe something could be given as an anti-inflammatory ot assist her. An eye mask specially for it would definitely be beneficial. I keep sunglasses with me all the time in case of an attack!

I battled with uveitis for 4 years, mine wore the guardian mask 24/7 nothing stopped the flare ups and i tried everything. I used to give bute straight away and put drops in 4 times a day. The longer it takes to start treatment the more damage is done to the eye. My boy had a cataract which was secondary to Uvetis.

Yes - it was the guardian one (I couldn't remember the make until you said!) it might be worth a go, as it will block out a lot more UV rays than the fly mask.

Poor you PitPony I have been told that's its very painful , yes she is under the care of an eye specialist . She responded very well when it first started nearly 2 years ago but every time we try and stop the treatment her eye clouds up usually within 24 hours , I can maintain it on 1 drop of Maxitrol daily with Atropine when needed luckily for me she is very good to treat I have to watch re Bute as I think she has ulcers too so it can make the situation worse although this time I have had to put her on it as she seems in pain but you can't tell by looking at her eye just the way she isnehsving at the moment . I have found a contact for Guardian Masks here in the Uk so will get one . I also bought some D Tox so hopefully I will be able to continue her training soon . She is stressed I am stressed ! What a horrible thing to have so painful poor mare !
