Uveitis help Please?

A freind of mine has asked me to post regarding her mare who had uveitis and had to have her eye removed - she has heard that often it can reappear in the other eye and is now frantic with worry as this would lead to her lovely mare being PTS! Can anyone advise whether this is common or rare please?

The best person for her to take advice from is her vet - who I'm assuming will have gone through much of this with her at the time.

Yes, it can appear in the other eye, but I don't know what the odds are.

Your friend will know what symptoms to look out for, and if she suspects a problem then will obviously be getting the vet out pronto, for early treatment (which doesn't always necessitate the removal of the eye.....).

But whilst it's a concern - I think she just needs to try and not stress about it.
