Hi all,

I am going to start doing more jumping with my boy this summer and am looking at getting one of the above.
My question is what really is the difference between the 2 and in your opinions which is better?

Thanks

AFAIK the v-check has elasticated sides that attach straight to the d-rings on the saddle, whereas a standard breastplate is more like a neck strap with attachments to the saddle. I'm assuming the 'combination' part is because there is a martingale attachment. Personally I prefer a standard breastplate as they usually have more options for adjustment and the strap across the withers is handy in the event of a dodgy jump! If you're going for the v-check you need to make sure it suits your horse as often there is no way to adjust the length of the sides, making them trickier to fit.
