I have a PROPER problem when it comes to remembering dressage tests, and have an ODE in a few weeks

and i think callers are allowed...
Is the caller someone you 'supply' yourself so to speak- friend or family- or does the event have people doing it?
Do they literally call out the test for you?
Thanks

You bring your own caller and yes they call out each movement for you as you go along.

I'd check the rules for your competition as ODEs dont usually allow callers. Good luck

You supply yourself, they call the test for you - I'd make sure they are well practised as are you with them doing it so it's not a disaster on the day. Check as not many ODE's allow callers - good luck!

ODEs don't usually allow callers.
if it helps, i learn mine as patterns, i don't bother with learning the letters. i used to go through them on my own two feet in the living room until my memory started behaving!

Not sure if you are allowed a caller for ODEs. Rules may have changed since I last did one.

Anyway the person calling the test reads the test as you do it. If you do have a caller it is still important to know the test. But it does help for those "Blank panic" moments! Also best to use someone to call who does dressage as they need to read the test ahead of the movement but not too far ahead!

Oh OK, thought it was a bit uncommon, got told by a friend we were allowed! Just checked with her, and it's only the very novice class that's allowed callers

They are called commanders although people tend to refer to them as callers. They are allowed for all British Dressage competitions except Area Festivals, Regionals and national championships.
