Vaccination reactions

Vaccine reactions are surprisingly common but can be very varied in their severity.

A few suggestions for you - ask your vet to use a vaccine from a different manufacturer as they all use slightly different preparations, put the vaccine in a different place (some horses are very sensitive if injected in the neck but fine if done in the bottom or chest), or you could ask your vet to give you some bute to give a couple of days before and after the vaccine.

It's worth trying different things as the reactions may get worse each year and it is very important to keep the vaccines up to date.
