I think it is vaccinations that trigger silvers skin problems - she had them two weeks earlier this year - skin flared up two weeks earlier. Last two years have been October time - prior to that march time and we had horrendous problems with her skin in summer - yet since moving them to October - no problems in summer?
Considering scrapping them - however have a few nighles:
Is it irresponsible and putting others at risk? We are on a yard of 30+ horses with surrounding farms too. A horse has died from tetanus on the farm - but he was vaccinated too.
Is it wrong to say that if ahe had tetanus she would be PTS anyway as she has so many other problems I wouldn't put her through it?
If it made no difference I would restart her vaccs.*
Are there alternatives to vaccinating? I suspect not but worth asking.
(she has pemphigus, which when flared up results in massive oedemas, hives and her hair and skin falls off - also depression and rheumatoid arthritis - so not a little thing to be looking at stopping vaccs for.)
