I was going to put off riding today, it was raining and I was so tired.
Then this great ball of plasma came out from behind the clouds, it was a wonderful sight to behold!
I decided I would ride after all
He was a very very good boy to tack up and get on. He even walked past the scary wood in the yard, which had been covered by tarpaulin!!
I never thought I would say it, but he was a bit of a plod! He went fine past the stretch of road we had problems on last time. He went past the gateway where we usually turn off too!
We have to go along a nasty stretch of road, but again, he was fine! Even when an over-sized M&S lorry went whooshing past
All went well until we were in a field and I saw a dog off it's lead and charging full pelt towards me. I held on tight and prepared to either run at the dog, or at least if Ned was going to run, point him to the other side of the field, so neither of us went back onto the road. Thankfully the dog had fantastic re-call and went back to it's owner. Crisis averted!
Called Mum and she came to meet me
Had a lovely wander around my village and took some photos
First we met some small road works
Then we went past a scrap yard (that he's never seen before)
Then we went back to my house and we met Annie! She decided to tell Ned off, he didn't mind though.
Finally we went over the by-pass bridge to get home
He didn't put a foot wrong the whole time! Mother left us and we headed home.
On the way back, we met a woman with 4 dogs. One was on a lead, but the rest weren't. 2 of the dogs were fine, but one squared up to us. I was terrified, to be very honest. The first dog, although running, looked like it wanted to play, this dog was in hunting mode.
The first dog had run back to it's owner too, but this dog...no. She was yelling and yelling, but it wasn't moving. Suddenly it charged, but Ned stood his ground, it got so close to us, but chickened out at the very last second.
I didn't get a word from the woman, no sorry, no nothing!!! I was so cross.
Then we met some ponies who were galloping along the hedge, but he was so calm and collected
The rest of the journey was uneventful, but he was so so so so good!
