To everyone who read and commented on my last thread, regarding losing my horse, thank you very much! Apologies for not replying, I ended up taking some time off from social media, etc. but really appreciated all the lovely comments!

I have a question regarding pricing a horse, I'm thinking of buying a horse which has been offered at a great price and was just curious to see what others think he would be worth! He's rising 5, just over 15hh, black gelding. He's a cob x ID. Was broken last year and not done much, but is a nice responsive ride and pretty un-flappable for a baby. Very green in the fact that he is wobbly, doesn't really bend or work from behind, but he has nice paces generally. Hasn't hacked on the roads but is used to farm machinery and not bothered by that. Supposedly has a nice jump on him too. Has been in the same home for the past 3.5years. Only critiques are he has a couple of sarcoid scars which were successfully treated several years ago, and pretty poor muscling which is not a concern.

Also, how much do you think his value would increase once he's got a bit more experience under his belt - hacking out on roads, fun rides, jumping small courses, etc.?

He is really quite sweet and although a little smaller than I was looking for, I am very tempted!

Hard to say what price but from what you've said a nice cob X like him should be worth anywhere from 4.5k to 6.5k, but with a little more experience could go for more. As reference I bought my cob for 5k.
