i know the market is rubbish at this time and you can get a real bargain but i need too sell my pony in order too get a horse for next season, he is a 7 yr old warmblood with good bloodlines he has been brought on slowly therefore only lightly competed however proved himself too be good at dressage and showjumping, he has also competed in a few busy workers classes this year and placed top 3 in all, he has reems of potential clears 1.40 with ease at home but i never had the confidence too jump him in big classes at shows so only jumped up to 1m....i need too sell him for enough money in order too get a good horse but at a reasonable price too sell in this competitive market

i was just wondering how you would value a horse and if anyone could give me a rough idea for mine :)

£1 and ill have him :p on a serious note- im not sure, if you could get him out competing at a higher level to prove his potential, even just a few times hed be worth lots more!!

Probably 3.5k unless you can get him eventing ? Or scoring serious marks to prove his potentialat 7 most will want him to be coming into his own. However if the worker classes were proper competitive classes, you would probably push it up to 7-10k based on how flashy a pony he is and whether he is reeady for a child to go and win/be competitive at workers?
do you have pics?
Sounds nice anyway!

hahaahahah, well ive been trying too get him out competing at fox level but very few BSJA shows on round my area and my mum wont drive far which is annoying and at our local unaffiliated shows the highest they go is 95/1m so thats not much good either

You dont say how big he is ,but there is always a good market for decent 14.2s.Put him on the PC site they seem to ask fair prices there.

getting him eventing is probably a good idea actually, when i take him round our local x-country venues he seems too love it jumps anything you put him too no matter how big and he is scoring 70%+ at dressage so it couldn't harm too give it a go :L he is growing up fast now but would say he needs a competitive rider too take him round the circuit and yeah got loads of pics but dont know how too put them on here :L and oh yeah sorry he's a full up 14.2 :)

sorry I assumed he was 14.2 is he?
Sounds like a nice pony anyway, to put pics up just upload them to somewhere like photobucket then paste the link on here.

yeah he is 14.2 :) and okay thanks ill do it tomorrow and on the 'getting him eventing' topic...he has competed in an unaffiliated one day event at 1m and got placed 4th, a team unaffil ODE the day after where he got a good dressage,1 time fault x-country and a clear jumping and he has also done a derby day which was like a replica of the hickstead derby but smaller obv;) where he got 2nd from 56 starters so i think he would make a good eventer but can you jump on a ticket at BE liek you can BSJA or do you have too become a member do you know?

Down here everyone wants eventers/allrounders so a few good results in some 90cm events ,they dont have to be BE, would really add value. If he is nice and easy it helps as most will go to family type homes, good to hack is another plus.
You could get around £4500 maybe more if you get a few results.
BSJA winnings dont seem to help as much as PC type activities as the market for SJs is smaller. A morning out hunting if you could would be useful.

thanks, and yeah he is relatively easy too hack will have a look at things but not a mega spook and isn't phased by traffic at all and ahh good ill try and find a BE round here and hunting sounds like a good idea someone else has mentioned taking him on a hunt as well :)

with tack? without?
vices?
good in stable? easy to load, good with vet, shoe and clip?
traffic?

If he is 100% in everyway and without tack perhaps £3750 -£4000 (allows you to come down to 3600 - 3800 mark)
