Well of course he took it all in his stride! cool calm and collected and has now settled in and has his hooves well and truly under the table.

Great photos and captions. :D

I've not followed your posts, is he here visiting or is he a new British citizen? Whereabouts in the UK are you guys? Looks like he's settling OK anyway. :)

He is a new British Citizen and I will still be in Holland for another 2 years and visiting him every other month for a long weekend:-((, he has been diagnosed with bad side bones and i couldn't take the risk of him going lame on me and not being able to travel him to the UK. So he is a lodger with my friend kelly at her Riding school in Newnham Kent on an exercise Livery, until I can re-join him full time.

Aw, at least he should have had plenty of time to come right before you join him here full time. IIRC, Flame had side-bone along with loads of other problems, we retired her but she's not shown any lameness in front for many many years.

I am really hoping that a good barefoot trim (have found a fantastic Farrier in Kent who came and gave him an initial trim on Thursday and he was really great!), a pair of solid hoof boots, the right feeds and supplements and some light hacking will keep him sound so I can enjoy him when I come back.

Mrs M He was a total Dude ;D

On Saturday morning he was lying down in his paddock and we found him with 4 ten year olds hanging off him giving him cuddles and he was loving every minute, he particularly liked them leading him in and out of the paddock as he could treat it like a mobile buffet! Some ground work will be required to remind him of his manners when i go back in August me thinks!

I on the other hand was a total mess today and sobbed all the way to Dover, all the way across the channel and half way through Belgium! ::)
