Had the vet out to my warmblood mare yday for her mud rash that she got in the middle of summer and hasnt shifted at all. She has just had a foal and thought it was just because she was run down after having the foal. but anyway vet is now saying that it is vasculitis and not mud rash which I first thought.
This is not a condition that I have come across before but have been told that it can be made worse by UV light. Fell bad just now because both mare and foal are cooped up in the stable and my mare can loose condition very quickly without grass, plus foals head is about to blow off without any running around space.
Wondered about UV protect chaps and if anyone knows if they are any good? and would sun block on the affected areas be just as good. Also read that sudacrem can help this condition???
It does seem to be getting better on its own over the last few weeks as she is no longer lame, but do really want to get this sorted so she can get back into work soon without being sore.
If any one has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
