Just looking at the results from yesterday's auction in Vechta, and can't get over the fact that a nine-year-old licensed stallion, who has been trained for months by Karin Rehbein and is ready to show GP, "only" went for 170,000 euros while top price was a three-year-old gelding with certainly a fantastic trot and canter, but with a walk which is, really, pretty average

And he went for 505,000

Yes but you have to remember in auctions that it only takes two people to bump up the price if you are both desperate to buy it.

i never would have picked Don Primeur as the top price. nice horse but very ordinary walk. Hocks are out behind in the trot, but yes it does have a lovely canter.

I wish I had a sugar daddy who could have bought Starlight for me, he looks totally gorgeous.

Glad you agree with me on the walk. I never thought that anybody would spend that kind of money on a horse with a less than exceptional walk.

Wish somebody had bought Starlight for me too - and he was a bargain wasn't he?

For the approx. 4,500 foals born each year in the Oldenburg breeding area, - That is a lot of foals just for one area, god no wonder they have better odds in the breeding stakes!
