and its only 8.30.

my elderly grandad was in the bathroom this morning splashing about as he does when it suddenly went very quiet.

i then heard very laboured gasps for breath and when i tried to get in the door was locked.

after about ten minutes ( which felt like 3 hours at the time) i managed to get thru the door with the use of a now very broken chair!

my grandad was unconsious and not breathing as he had fallen with his windpipe on the bath and had all his weight on it.

i managed to get him breathing again and called an ambulance which has just taken him to hospital.
luckily my mum (his daughter) got here in time to go with him in the ambulance.

they suspect a bleed on his brain as he had one last year also and the symptoms are very similar.

vibes please for my grandad. they are much needed.

i didnt feel calm though.

im trained as a flight attendant and just remember thinking how im so much calmer on the aircraft than i was today.

im assuming its because he is a family member that made it harder rather than some person i have never met before if that makes sense.

anyway just been told there is no point me going down to the hospital as it will be hours before i see him as he is having tests.

will go and do horses i think - a bit of normality!

You still did well. One reason we have a lock on the bathroom door that can be opened from the outside with a coin or screwdriver (put in place due to children getting locked in

Oh God - all my thoughts with you and your family this morning. Well done for acting so quickly. Huge hugs and positive vibes coming your way!!

How terrible for you all.

<<<<<<<<<healing vibes>>>>>>>>>>>> for your Grandad

((((((((Hugs)))))))))) for you.

I'm really sorry to hear about your Grandad, vicki, sending good vibes for him. You did really well - its relatively easy to deal with a crisis involving strangers, but when its people you love, its much harder to be detached and professional !
