Very emotional day today............

Ok so firstly I took Alee for her first hack with me riding her today

. She behaved impecably.

We only had one very wobbly moment when she couldn't work out where to put her feet and she fell over and I fell off and badly winded myself. She did nothing wrong bless her was just a difficult path to tackle for such a baby. Anyhow I climbed back on and had a fab hack home.

Unfortunatly though her little stumble has left her a little lame poor love but I'm sore too so hardly suprising really...

Secondly and far more importantly Dave ( my OH and grey_gelding on here) got back on Spike today.

Spike had his Kissing Spine operation on March 12th and the post operative care has been somewhat challenging to say the least but seeing Dave back on board today with a happy and pain free Spike (and to see him actually stay on board) bought a tear to both our eyes...... and here he is our little star

It does seem to be although I have probably cursed it by saying that its amazing that we now have 3 sound horses!!!!! ( or did have till today!!!)
I'm sure Alee will be fine think she may be a bit foot sore too she only has fronts on and our tracks are very flinty / chalky. Got farrier out next week so fingers crossed.

Thats brilliant, you must be thrilled alround, its horrible when they trip but I am sure she will be fine. You can get some good homeopathic remedies for foot soreness.

On the Spike front, do I get to say "told you so" yet? Am very proud of what you and your OH have achieved with Spike, I have all my fingers crossed that everything will now be onwards and upwards. I know I said the rollercoaster is more fun than the merry go round, but I didn't really mean it, I am a big fan of merry go rounds and am now hoping Spike falls firmly in to that category. A big well done to you both for persevering.

As for your baby, she sounds as though she has done really well, hope the sore feet will pass quickly and that she goes onwards and upwards too.
