I have a Dartmoor pony who has a very greasy coat.

Even after a bath by day three has a really heavyily geasy coat. I fully realise that if she lived on Dartmoor would be essential. She doesn't. It makes grroming and keeping her clean a nightmare.

When I first got her and clipped her'cos I couldn't clean her properly she was actually green under her coat.

Any ideas?

I intend to clip her and rug her up as although she is not ridden (she is a companion pony) she is lead out off my boy several times a week up to 2 hour hacks. She is only 14 yrs old and needs to have her body and mind stimulated, much too young to retire. I also long rein her.

I have one too, use fairy, it is the best thing i have found, i have used horse shampoos but nothing works. they do have quite a greasy coat, just dont use too many products on her it will make her worse.
my was also clipped never again, he always looked dirty
is she a dartmoor hill pony or a dartmoor
