I never thought I would want to ride again especially with so many starts and stops and terrible instructors over the years but now I find myself scrambling for the last few positions at my local stables.
I found a fantastic stables outside of London that does 3 hr courses and have found a GREAT instructor at my local school which I attend weekly. Its amazing he gives me invaluable tips. His parents used to compete professionally in dressage and showjumping. Suffice to say I think I actually love him. Amazing how some instructors who are not BHS qualified can actually motivate you to overcome your fears whilst others just scream at you and cause resentment
Between the 2 instructors I am going between my confidence has peaked so much so that when the horses are a bit naughty I just deal with it or when they break into an excited run during a canter I dont freak out but just adjust my position and bring them down to a walk
I just wish I was in a position to be able to ride everyday. The time is there for the next 2 years but until you have enough experience no stables worth their salt will take you on (which I completely support)
Suffice to say I am just happy (although I wish I could do it everyday - okay I shall not be greedy - almost every day)
