So you want more comp reports........this isn't going to be the most excited but we headed to Manor Farm in the boiling heat to jump in the Newcomers and possibly Fox depending on how it was going.
We arrived and it was very quiet there, about 12 in the Newcomers so not much hanging around luckily. I'm not sure if it was the hot sand but he felt like he was on springs and certainly not feeling the heat he was giving the warm up jumps feet! We went in the ring and he did a big spook at no.1 very unusal so he got a little kick and jumped it 4 foot! 2 was a water tray so again lots of air then he settled down and flew round the rest of the course for clear. It was a mean course with lots of dodgy strided related distances on dog legs so i was really pleased. It was the best round we have done together very smooth an i think we have finally got the flying changed sorted
6 through to the jump off and i was last to go only 1 person went double clear and there were 3 prizes. He jumped really well but had the first part of the last double down (2 doubles in the JO how mean!) it was 4 and a half strides so i went on 4 and got a little unbalanced oh well good pony but no rosette for us.
We were standing by the ring when i heard that there were only 6 in the Fox Blue Ribbon Scope Qual i sent mum off to enter we as top 6 qualify
I went in first and he jumped amazing it was only our 2nd 1m20 and he flew round really easy, just got a bit long to the last fence the double again and had it down coming out this time. This is the jammy part......I thought we had to jump clear in 1st round to qualify but it turns out we didn't so we came 5th and qualified for Scope
Now we have 2 classes to jump which makes our trip worth while. Now i need to start jumping more 1m20's!
I didn't get any pics but here are a few from training last week:
Thanks for reading CC welcome.
We now have 2 weekend off then heading to Keysoe on the 17/18th July for more scope quals and discovery 2nd rounds.
