Hi everyone, I'm more of a lurker on here especially after forgetting my password for ages and being too idle to do anything about it till now!

Anyhow, back in August I took my Shetland pony to a show - Minsterley to be precise. Wouldn't normally bother with a show report if it was one of my others but this pony just makes me smile just thinking about him!

I've owned Tigger since he was roughly nine months old, he was ten years on the 21st of May this year. Since the day I was given him I dreamed of showing him but for various reasons I never was able to. At three years old Tigger lost his right eye (its still there but no longer looks 'normal' and he has no sight) so that put an end in my mind to ever showing him. I just didn't have a thick enough skin to take people pointing and staring/questioning. At the age of eight he suffered his first bout of laminitis, it broke my heart and one cold February morning two years ago I almost made the call for the vet. But its been onwards although a constant battle to keep his weight down!
But, fast forward to earlier this year and I thought stuff it, the light shines out of his backside and I want to show him off!

(Everything you've read so far is incredibly waffle-y but hopefully it shows how well he did.)

Anyway we arrive at the show ground and he was a super star, I was expecting some serious showing off etc but he acted like it wasn't his first, more like 50th!

Our first class was the standard shetland mare and gelding, he was completely dwarfed by the true traditional black shetlands and we came at the bottom of the lineup, about 15th!
I wasn't disheartened, I was so proud, he was amazing throughout!

Our next class was coloured native inhand, my beautiful boy came 2nd out of 5, winning me a beautiful rosette and a trophy for being the highest placed coloured shetland (definitely need to go back and win it again next year so I can keep it again!) I must admit I cried when I got out of the ring, I was gobsmacked!

Our final class was mountain and moorland, Tigger got pulled in third out of thirteen other ponies (including his half brother) and kept his placing, another beautiful yellow rosette :)

I'm so proud of what my pony has achieved, he truly is my best friend, very soppy I know! I'm always envious reading others show reports but felt I really had to share mine, although it really is rather long winded!

Here's some pictures of my main man!

And one more - you can see his eye clearer in this one :)
