Well she did her first test away from the yard - and only done 2 tests there - so was a bit daunting for us both. I was feeling sick last night and this morning (think it was nerves) but shouldn't have worried as she was a little star. She travelled well - is only 15 mins down road though - came off perfect and then stood munching hay very quietly whilst I tacked up. She was an angel through the busy car park full of strange objects - like builder's sacks and brightly coloured mounting blocks.

In the warmup/collecting ring she only put her ears back once and only shyed from the wheelchair ramp (was RDA venue) a couple of times. In the test arena she didn't spook at anything and there were lots to see from huge mirrors, white boards, people watching

and during the test leaves falling down like confetti in front of her from the ceiling.
We weren't perfect....her being resistant and me being...me but we got 59% in a test we only practised yesterday afternoon and have never done in test situation before so was very happy with her and her behaviour. She got some nice comments too (and I got 'nice quiet riding'

)
Sorry to go on but am so pleased with her...we have come so far this year. Just a couple of pics as OH is blaming light for blurring the others

Thanks - I have got another planned for middle of November at our yard and then another in December at a totally different venue again so will be good to see if her angel act keeps up.

Nic,

you both look great together! Mol looks fantastic and even more so with her orange saddle
grin.gif

is that Middleton Park?

you are banned from drinking the night before the next comp at your yard! cant wait to see how she goes in the new saddle at the comp at your yard.

Do you fancy doing the comps too - was told today that yard one is on 21st but they never do them on Saturdays so think it must be 22nd November and the other one is at Ledston on 6th December (there is also one on at Ledston on 1st November but I fancy a bit of a break - going to work on the hacking issue now

).
The RDA was at Wakefield and it seems a lovely place.
I didn't do as well as you on Mol but was just so glad that she behaved somewhere new I didn't mind too much.

Awww thanks - we think she's quite gorgeous too. Hard to believe that when I bought her I didn't think she was that nice looking but she ended up getting strangles the week after we viewed her so for next few months I only had a rubbish video to remember her by and she looked like she had a very big head!

yes will def get booked in for the 21st and 6th.
she hasnt been ridden for the last week cos ive had swine flu
frown.gif
boo hiss, bad dr gave me some awful steroids as well that have made me sick
frown.gif
so the 1st will be out of it, but im off work the w/c 2/11 so will be back on with her, for some lessons and back on track
smile.gif

you did great with Mol, she looks great in the pics, youre looking like a team now
grin.gif
- shame cos that means i cant have her now
frown.gif
:P only joking, glad youre getting on so well together.
if you need any help with the hacking let me know and ill pop over and give you a hand

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

Daisy: I should be o.k with the hacking as I am intending to just go down the track at our place and then it is all off road - you're welcome to bring your girl up to mine for a hack though whenever you fancy it. The houses near to the farm down the lane should present some looks and side steps....well I'm hoping a couple of spooks as this is the only horse I know who gets bored when there is nothing to spook at and then wants to go home!

ETA: Sorry to hear you've been ill - you never seem to get a break! Hope you're feeling better now!

No

I am totally hopeless and shy! I have said hi to her loads when passing and kept meaning to watch one of Cath's lessons (well Sam's lessons) and have got too busy as am always up late then dashing around. However, I am up this week as off on school hols at the minute so shall watch a lesson and pluck up the courage - think Cath has actually pointed me out anyway! Must admit though she has done wonders with Sam (who came 6th and 2nd today on a horse that used to bolt!).
Not to change the subject but how it Nat getting on as haven't seen many posts on here recently?

Im still here
grin.gif
just been a bit busy spending money and buying a house. Im down to one horse again, or at least until foal is born next year.

I cant wait.

It sounds like things are really coming together with you and Mol. If I'd of known you were at the RDA I would have popped up to say hi.
smile.gif

oooh yeah fetching the big bird over to play hacking would be good fun - might be best though to fetch her over when youve got Mol out hacking first or just taking Jackson out.
yeah its been a crap few weeks for me. The only thing about the steroids is that my asthma is doing fantastic - never mind that ive got bags the size of a bin\liners and need to prop my eyelids open with matches.

when do you go back to school?

Well if you ever get bored and have nothing to ride you should come up and meet Molly when she is not being a gumpy madam over a Rockwood stable
smile.gif
and have a ride.
I shall have to check out the breeding section if you have a foal due...no wonder you're excited. I remember when Becky's foal was due and we were all there waiting for texts to go off
smile.gif

I wasn't round the RDA for long - did test and headed off back, picked up my sheet later.
Nice to see you're still about.
smile.gif

Ooooh you can't type "When do you go back to school?" I'm trying not to think about that! Lol. Seriously though it is just one week I have off and then back on Monday 2nd.
I could take Jackson out and show you some places round by us....and probably get lost as every time I've been out so far (quite a bit over summer) we never seemed to go the same route twice!

Cath is doing really well with Sam
smile.gif
Not talking to Nat as she has sold big ginger
wink.gif
only kidding got to be nice to her as she supplies me with mags
smile.gif
smile.gif
she was fine when i last saw her think she is busy with a house and work. xx

I would love to pop up and have a ride, although I've turned into a complete numpty as ive not ridden properly for ages.
smile.gif
I keep telling Nikki I will pop up to see her but havent had chance yet.

Everyone has already booked little foalie in for photoshoots for various things. I'll let you know when it pops out so you can come meet him/her.
smile.gif

Im still around but just dont post very often.
