As the title says, after two weeks of hellish bad behaviour and general naughtiness, we have turned a corner with Sov. Last week we did dressage at Warren Farm and came 3rd in both prelims(would of been 2nd in p10 but made an error of course). On sunday we did the 2 phase event and came 2nd. Then today I went to church farm and he jumped round the novice with 2 down which was a major achievement because last time he napped at the ring entrance. He was still quite stressed today but at least he listened to me and didnt panic and nap so I would call that a step in the right direction!!! Then came home and rode new racing recruit Emerald who a good boy and even cantered!

Isn't it great when that hapens! Sounds like you've solved the problems.
CCJ has been taking Monty to our local SJ professional for lessons and we too have turned a corner. Haven't tested him in comps yet but we do now know what causes the problems, she was riding him too hard to the fences instead of sitting keeping the canter.
His first test is next Sunday at a local ODE, so fingers crossed we have the same sort of success you have.
Sounds like soon you will win one of those dressage comps to me..

That is exactly it, I was over-riding. Good Luck at your ODE. Not sure what we have got next weekend probably more dressage (farmer at the back of our House is having a show)! Then I have set a goal of doing dressage with the new Ex racehorse Emerald on Sept 16th. My friends think I am mad but it will make me do something with him and he can canter on both reins after 3 sessions, what more can you ask? Its only prelim after all.
