very poorly Micah (temp 105.6)

When I got to the yard this morning micah was very quiet and lethargic, not eaten his haylage and only pooed 3 times

He was extremely clingy. My thermometer was broken (after someone borrowed it) I tired coaxing him with nuts but he just wasn't interested.

I called vet straight out as I just knew he was poorly

Very experienced vet has only ever seen one temperature as high as this

He took bloods and will get back to me asap

gave him injection to reduce temperature and antibiotics

He perked up 40 mins later but obviously he may not feel well again once injection wears off so will be checking on him again later this evening

please would you send some 'goodvibes' for him

vet just called its a virus. he is coming back in the morning to give him another injection as he said he was too poorly to just give medication in his feed

I presume now surgery planned for Friday will be post poned

Checked him again. Temp still 104.4 but perkier in himself. Vet said it may take a day or two for temp to come down and him to start eating well

Going to check about 2 2.30. Vet be here at 9am

Vet just left. Pleased with improvement. Gave him another injection Left antibiotics and danilon for 4 days. I'm to ring him later let him know how he is. And to give him lots if his favourite foods lol. Have to postpone surgery too. He took his photo as he said he is gorgeous and so very sweet lol
