I have to share asi had posted a few posts on my mare development since buying her almost 4years ago a very green 8year old.

Well she looses confidence very easierly so no one but me jumps her unless professional.

Well today we picked up on jump school after the snow and rain she was going well once she got over her stubborn mare syndrome at poles lol we cleared a lovely upright 2'9 up to a 3'3"/3'6" oxer first time we knocked the front pole Down so re approached it this time she over jumped the oxer by a couple of feet and I exited out the side door on landing lol

So I hopped back on and needless to say she refused , her confidence was knocked. To add to this in the past we have had to lower the fences to next to nothing and leaf it there as her confidence had been to effected.

Back rail removed and back and front fence pole dropped on one side we jumped through then front pole went back up we jumped clear the back pole up and we jumped clear finallay the back rail on the oxer back up and we jumped clear with confidence.

So a little self absorbed post but OH is pleased but not very horsey so had to share.

Very proud mummy today

Teacher taught me to hug her belly with my legs on last corner to fence so with the rhythm of the canter I say or sing 'hug the belly, hug the belly' very effective not only for her confidence but for feeling your stride better
