So today my Jack jumped his first filler!!
This sounds very pathetic maybe, but i'm sooo proud of him!
I bought Jack a year ago, and he's had a difficult start. Was backed very early and ridden hard for two years, and from what i'm led to believe had a bad fall whilst jumping that caused his sale and knocked his confidence. The next owner just kept him in the field and did nothing with him for 2 years as she couldnt ride him as he was so nervy. He was in as good a condition as he could have been with no work etc so she cared for him, i cant knock that.
I got him out of sympathy really, but he is fast becoming such an angel. My instructor has helped so much. We took it right back to basics, as though he hadnt been ridden before, and have tried to build up his confidence. And there have been times where i thought we would never get much further then gentle schooling/hacks (i would never have sold him on, ever, but it was disappointing that i couldnt do more)
But its been a year now, and he is coming on in leaps and bounds. We can happily school walk trot canter, and do the odd cross bar. Today, my instructor put the filler up, and i was so nervous, but he popped over good as gold. We only did it a couple of times, but i'm so proud of him.

More of a self indulgent thread here i'm afraid! Just such a happy bunny! Next time we do it, i'll get some photos. Ahh im so happy!!!!
