So a few weeks ago I bought a trailer.

The first outing was due to be today to a fun charity ride, but the friend who was due to keep me company dropped out and I considered not going.

But I decided to be brave so this morning I loaded my girl and towed about 20 miles. I was meeting friends at the ride and all our horses were fab and none of them put a foot wrong and we had a great day out.

I have had my girl just under 2 years and she is still quite young and green. We have been to local shows a couple of times on a friends lorry, but never a fun ride and I have never travelled her alone.

She just took everything in her stride, stayed calm and popped a couple of logs beautifully as a bonus.

I'm so proud of both of us. We are now fully independent and the world is our oyster.

Well done. It's no small feat to load up and go off for the first time in a new trailer, particularly when you're doing something new.

Well done! I know what an achievement this is, being still very new to the the trailer towing malarket myself. Just hitching and unhitching is (for me) a major achievement, never mind going somewhere. It gets easier every time, and it's great to be able to just decide to go out when the mood takes you.

I know what the apprehension can feel like and so pleased for you that you went for it and what great fun for horse and rider too!
