I got a year old Saluki a couple of months ago. He had never been out of breeders home/garden and was quite nervous about everything. No recall and a definite flight risk!
Today he had his first off lead walk. Two hour walk in the forest and he was so good, mostly stayed by my side and a few lovely runs with the lunatic Lurcher and a heart stopping moment when they both disappeared into the undergrowth after a pheasant.
JonJo (Saluki) and Duffy (lunatic Lurcher) now tucked up in bed together. 😀

Well done 😊 I know how hard it can be when you get to the stage of letting sighthounds off the lead, it sounds like you’ve done a fantastic job with him 😊

You have to resize them - I use the photo app on my laptop - so they are medium sized (2mb on my laptop). Then they will upload here, it’s a real PITA!

Very well done. It’s very nerve wracking being brave enough to let them off lead when you haven’t had them from pups, and sighthounds would be among the most difficult. I rehomed a young greyhound/ whippet some years ago who was afraid of the world, had no socialisation as a young pup. I thought she would stay close as she was such a wimp, but all she wanted to do was hunt when I let her loose. It took a long time before I was confident that she would stay near.
