Got to the yard yesterday morning and my friend found her horse had died in the night.

He was only 14 and there seemed nothing wrong with him the night before, I still cant quite get my head around it!!

Life is so s**t at times, he had a wonderful home and his owner loved him to bits, why do things like this have to happen???

The yard doesnt seem the same without him and it has got to everyone.

Just cherish every moment we have with our horses, cos you never know! xx

i know how you feel its never the ones that are suffering that he takes!
i sometimes think it happens for a reason, maybe there is another horse that needs her? ......
i lost my missi cat a few weeks ago she has just had kittens and was knocked over, i have had to hand rear her babies which nearly killed me everyday for 6 weeks!
but a stray turned up in a terrible state! and needing some love also heavily pregnant and completely amaciated!
if i had still got my missi cat she couldnt have stayed with us, maybe thats god way of evening things out?

we've had a tough time rescently!!! dont you find that just as everything is great any you feel really happy, something smacks you in the face and shows you what life is really like. well yesterday, we successfully moved yards, our pony loaded 1st attempt and traveled safely and we got on well with the new people, everything was going great! me and my parents went home all happy and as i reached the door i heard this really loud alarm sound. me being in a happy mood, i put my ear to the door jokily, and then it clicked that the fire alarm was going off.

burst into hose, ran around looking for fire, then tried to turn off alarm, touched it and found it full of water!!, looked in downstairs loo and saw water pouring through the lights and down the walls!!, ran up stair and found a soaked carpet, water everywhere! dad went into bathroom, then started yelling " S*** theres water everywhere!!", the ratiator valva has been knocked off and boiling water was pouring all over the room. my dad used his bare hands to keep the water in, burning both hands in the process, and managed to hold it for ten minutes while me and mum rushed around turning off the water and getting a bucket for dad to put the left over water in. it took about half an hour for it all to happen and the plumber came out, fixed it all up, we lost half our hall carpet and we hope the cailings arnt too damaged.

it's weird how things happen, we have towels everywhere soaking up water. a possitive is that it's lucky the new carpets wernt down and the flooring in the hall and d-s loo. but the bathroom had been newly fitted and cost a fortune. we hope no damage is done. it puts a bit of a reminder to be realistic. i've become a bit cynical, i feel you should never get your hopes up as it all falls down, but i wish i didnt feel like it, i just speak with 1st hand experiance.

oh how sad

he probably didn't suffer though as it's probably a heart attack. As a person I'd rather go that way than after years of suffering from a long illness.
