I have shared it in case anyone I know saw it. So sad, how awful, and that the man didn't even stop. I suppose he was worried about being sued. Has the lady concerned contacted the media? H&h and so on, it would be great to find this person.
Can honestly say this is one of the most awful afternoons I have ever experienced. Took 7 Daxies to Burghley Horse Trials today, including one of our 10 week old puppies, Nix, to do some socialising, and he was killed earlier this afternoon by another dog. The owner of this dog didn't have it muzzled, I was walking both of the dogs (Wispa and Nix, both young puppies) I had quietly along a busy footpath and the dog stopped, grabbed hold of the puppy by the back of the neck, and shook him. He died almost immediately, after I had kicked the other dog off him, but as I ran with him to find the nearest vet, the owner of this dog just walked away. Not a word of apology, not a single ounce of remorse or apology, just left after his dog had killed a small and defenceless puppy. Writing this I am in absolute floods of tears, cannot put into words how completely devastated I am, and just can't really believe this has happened. All the event organisers, vets, security, police, dog crèche and army people at Burghley have been fantastic, and have my heartfelt thanks for making this a tiny bit less awful, but the man (and dog) haven't yet been found. If anybody saw anything, or knows of a man, late 40's, medium height with short grey hair, with a staff x type, who was wearing a harness and lead, who was at Burghley today and could have been involved, please, please get in touch with cambs police. R.I.P. Little Nix, such a sweet boy who deserved so much better.
Faracat, a young puppy was attacked by a staffy x type at Burghley. The owner of the attacking dog did not stop while the owner of the pub sought a vet and the pup died at the scene.
Thanks for copying the story, I couldn't copy and paste it from Facebook. I was hoping on here (maybe in the tack room as well due to where it happened) someone may have seen something. I'm not connected, just came up on my feed and I was horrified
Por lamb, poor owner. . HSD killed a greyhound in our local park last week and the owner did the same, just walked off. Some people have no conscience.
a ten week old puppy wouldn't have been fully vaccinated so was still at risk of parv o .what was it doing on the ground at a Hugh show with dozens of unknown dogs around? Rip to the poor little thing but it sounds likes it's suffered for its owners poor judgement. The other owner sounds terrible as well.
Someone must have seen what happened. It is their responsibility to come forward and give the police etc the information they need to get the person responsible.
Yes such a young puppy should really not been there but what has happened has happened. RIP little puppy
