Very silly question!!!(I know?)

Sorry about this folks but as a very new horse owner can I ask "how long does it take for a full clip to grow out?"
I have decided to buy the 15yr old mare I went to look at last sunday, and on friday I went for a try out, she moved lovely very responsive etc so deal done, BUT since Sunday they have clipped her and I mean clipped to within an inch!!! literally shaved I would say!!
She is a dark bay cob, and the clip has not been done very well either in my amateur eyes, I dont understand why? when we saw her at the beginning of the week with it all on!
She was used in the school but not constantly and she always wears rugs so I can see why as such!! but I want her back the way she was!! how long will it take?

I am currently clipping every 3 weeks! OK, so it has not totally grown back in that time but enough for him to drip with sweat when worked. I would expect within 6 weeks this time of year you would barely know he had been clipped.

Thanks Jane-Lou I knew it would grow back but I was thinking months not weeks!
