He's on IV antibiotics, anti inflammatory's and pain killers twice a day, and today has turned a corner for the better. He's looking at long term box rest and is very under weight. What can we feed him to help him along? He's currently getting 3 feeds a day of Alfa A Oil, Build Up and Sugar Beets. Apples Carrotts Banana's and all sorts of other tasty things are being offered and he's on had lib good quality hay.

The antibiotics will have upset the gut flora so some good support will help with his weight gain, I used Protexin with good results.

When mine was on long term box rest I gave him a tub of Redigrass to pick at as well as hay and haylage, it was winter so no fresh grass available but now I would be out pulling grass and nettles for him as well.

I pulled him 2 large tub trugs of grass today will do tomorrow and don my rubber gloves for nettles. He belongs to my best buddy and we are on the same yard so i'm lending a hand where ever I can and we are all doing research on how to help him along. Thank you.
