Last Friday I noticed Tink scratching her ear a lot, and tilting/shaking her head a lot. When I looked in it did seem a bit red, but she had been scratching it. She seemed fine over the weekend and I forgot all about it. Yesterday she was scratching it a lot again, and it was red inside. Had 70% decided to take her to the vet but typically its nearly impossible this week due to lack of transport all week...

So far this morning she hasn't been scratching (that I've seen...) and it doesn't appear to be red...

Thoughts?

Take her to the vets just in case (I can just about get there today, if theres a free appointment! but if I "wait and see" she can't go until next monday...) or?

GAH. If she'd scratch he ear again I could justify skiving some time off work and paying goodness knows how much....

If she's scratching she may have an infection that needs antibiotic drops/further treatment. If you can get her there today ?I would rather than waiting a week. But I always believe in quick action producing a more satisfactory outcome.

Phone the vet. My vet got a phonecall from me this morning and has popped some Epi-otic in the post. Itchy ears can be excruciating and will make her miserable if it goes on for a week.

I hate my vets, can never get to the actual vet just the main clinic in Sheffield...

Whipped her in anyway, and £46 later  Blooming thing. :D She was being very stoic as she even had to have a steroid injection it was that bad! I'm a rubbish owner! :o

The main thing is she's fine now! If you could diagnose everything yourself and know when a vet was needed with certainty, well you'd be a vet and you wouldn't need one! :)
