I'm very excited as the vet has just scanned Nell in foal... apparently its quite big so she must have held from the first covering!!
Although this is the 2nd attempt she didn't hold the first time and we were annoyed with ourselves for sending her to stud so late.. she foaled in April but we didn't get our backsides in gear and organise it, she didn't go there until mid June, then she was at stud 5 weeks before she was covered and she hadn't ovulated and was injected into season, then didn't hold.
Breeze was scanned in foal on the 1st Aug. We were expecting her to be the problem as she took 3 attempts last year but she took first time this year, although stallion didn't want to cover her the fist day she was standing (We knew she should be ready to cover as she was scanned 2 days before) so stud put some urine from a mare that was full on in season on her tail and he hopped on no probs. Wonder if she doesn't smell right in the early stages of her ovulations which may be why she took 3 attempts last time!
Any way fingers crossed they both stay in foal and everything goes smoothly....
