Vet livery

My mare has to go to glasgow for tests and was wondering if anyone knows what they charge for livery/overnight stay? My insurance is paying for treatment but not for keep while shes there.

When my mare stayed in Newmarket it was near enough £100 a day. My insurance covered neither livery or travel costs

I know if you speak to some vets the cost of livery can be classed as other stuff that the insurance covers, may be worth a go.

Mine arent covering travel either, ill try that zoe thanks, its going to cost me roughly £150 each way to get her there as live in south cumbria

When my girl was in Dick vet, my insurance payed her livery fees while there, but deducted from their payment, the amount i would have payed if she was at her own livery . Eg if it cost £100 at horsepital and £25 at home, they only paid out £75 to cover it. These are just random amounts as i cant remember what it cost

Ask the hospital to split the "livery" fees into "nursing" and "hotel" costs. Your insurers should pick up the nursing part but not the hotel.
