Since the vet was out today, I got her to look a the Spooky Pony, who's been plagued by a very slight recurrent lameness. The good news is, she concurs with my riding instructor and my hoof trimmer, that it's a) the right fore, and b) probably due to gravel in an area of white line separation (the last remains of very large separation that he used to have).
I'm now to tub his foot daily in an antiseptic solution, and then put blue spray on.
First try at the tubbing: he spooked back and knocked the bucket over. We did get him to stand in it for 10 mins on the second attempt, though, with me holding his beloved "red square thing" (mineral lick).
Good news is I'm allowed to keep riding him with his booties on, and shouldn't worry to much about occasional ouchy steps.
She did say he moves his right fetlock a bit funny (he's a touch pigeon toed on that foot, although it's improving), so if he doesn't improve with the gravel treated, we'll have a look at that.
Feeling much more positive about things!
