If your horse was tripping behind in trot on a circle but not lame and happy in all other ways would you call the vet or the physio?

No, same on both reins. My gut feeling is that she's been back in work for two months now and probably just needs a few knots taking out of her pelvis. Just hoping it is muscular and not something lower down.

After my recent experinace my first call would be a good equine vet - if i had gone this route maybe i would have saved myself a potential permanantly lame horse, and maybe i would already be 5 weeks into box rest.

You should always go to your vet first. As a McTimoney-Corely practitioner myself we are not allowed to treat a horse without the vets permission. Even a phone call to discuss your horse maybe enough for the vet to refer you to a physio. Hope all's well.
